As an established thought leader in neurology, Dr. Hoffmann has authored four books on various neurology topics including his titular first book, Brain Beat, and also Assembly of the Executive Mind, Cognitive, Conative and Behavioral Neurology, and Clinical Mentation Evaluation. 

 

In addition to his books and various research publications, he continues to conduct research and operate in university environments in various capacities in order to consistently deliver effective, research-based treatments to his patients. Additionally, Dr. Hoffmann has held a variety of university and research positions throughout his career, including:

• Academic appointments in South Africa (UKZN), Canada (Memorial University), United States (University of Kentucky, University of South Florida), courtesy appointments (NOVA South Eastern University) and currently serves as core faculty with the University of Central Florida.

• Founding director of the Primary Stroke Center (2002) and Comprehensive Stroke Center, Tampa General Hospital/University of South Florida (2004), as well as the founding director of the Primary Stroke Center at the James A Haley VA Hospital, Tampa, Florida (2013) and Orlando VA Medical Center, Primary Stroke Center (2018). 

• Several academic positions at the University of South Florida including, Associate Dean of Academic Assessment, Interim Chair of Neurology, and Vice Chair of Neurology.
